Ina Garden's Famous Big Green Salad Recipe
You're going to love this salad! Before we get started, whenever possible it is best to get these ingredients straight from the garden. Which we all know is my favorite place to be. However, if you don’t have a garden, Johnson’s Backyard Garden-Austin and our friends at the Texas Farmers’ Market always have what you need.
The more green, the better
It is always best to start any salad with a base dark leafy greens like kale and collard greens. Start by chopping them into big bite sized pieces.
Now for fresh herbs
For extra flavor and variety, add some herbs. Cilantro and parsley are my favorites.
Don't forget the extra veggies
Next start adding veggies! Cucumber, zucchini, and squash are some of my favorites. Don’t forget the carrots! Chop these up into thin pieces and sprinkle them on top.
Need a little sweetness?
Finally, add just a touch of sweetness with some fresh fruit. Slice some strawberries and sprinkle them along with blueberries on top of the salad.
Bon appétit!
